Opinion on New Machines

I have noticed over the past few years that many of the big box stores are selling brand name maintenance equipment at lower prices.

I would suggest comparing the products there with machines sold at authorized dealers.

Based on the experience that I have had over the last few years, it is my opinion that the products sold “en masse” at big box store chains is an inferior product to those sold at the dealer. The materials used seem less durable, almost flimsy in comparison. One observation is that, on some Zero turn models, the frame is bolted together rather than being welded.

That being said, there is a price difference between the points of purchase. If you are purchasing on a budget your initial monetary outlay will be less but your yearly maintenance and repair bills will be higher after the first year or so.

Shopping for parts?

The other downside of purchasing from a big box store is that if there is a warranty issue, repairs are sent out. The dealer can do repairs and maintenance at the point of purchase.

Some new and used item here as well

I am sharing my personal opinion to help you make the right decision for you when buying new lawn and garden equipment.
