2001 Ski Doo Formula Deluxe 700

This was my project today, no start, overheating, and leaking coolant.

Step 1:

Try to trickle charge the battery for 12 hours, as this sometimes brings them back

No luck with that, the battery is totally dead.

So a new battery it is.

On to the overheating and leaking issue. The coolant seems to be boiling, and the leak is from the overflow hose from the tank.

After careful inspection, I found the thermostat to be stuck closed, causing the engine to overheat due to a lack of coolant flow

The Thermostat is mounted under the cylinder head, top facing down, away from the engine.
